The Rotary Club of the Villages-Evening has been naming A ROTARIAN OF THE YEAR since 2015. It is designed to honor the person who clearly stands out in demonstrating "Service Above Self' and a commitment to living the Four Way Test. The reward recognizes a member of the Evening Club who has shown leadership, personal volunteer efforts and active involvement in helping others through Rotary. An indication of the strength of our club is that 8 different people received voltes as the Rotarian of the Year. That is 8 people who's work and commitment to Rotary was enough that someone thought they should be named as our top Rotarian. However, for the top position, the voting really wasn't that close. Our honoree this year was head and shoulders over others in a club of outstanding members. The 2019-2020 honoree has done EVERYTHING. If a ball was dropped, he picked it up! If the club had a project, he was there. Heavily involved in Harbour View Elementary School, the weekly newsletter, food drives and yes, even volunteering to stay on in our highest, most time consuming job when someone else was need.
